Preface
Typically any blog that you find on the blogosphere will have a comments slot at the bottom of every post. That doesn’t mean it is your passport to vent your frustrations or abuse that space with spam even though there isn’t any formal comments policy visible near the comment slot. Hence this comments policy not only bind you on this blog but also should hold good for every other blog that you find on the Internet.
Comments Policy of Raj & Co
I enjoy interacting with you and gladly welcome your comments. Feel free to share your thoughts, as your opinion matters to me a lot. Your feedback further sharpens and polishes me on the subject. Moreover, your comments add knowledge to the community we have here. To ensure that comments enhance the value of the subjects discussed and not deviate away from the subject of the article published on this blog, I have created this formal blog comments policy page. Before you comment here on Raj & Co, it is implied that you agree to comply to these policies outlined here.
So, let me begin with the disclaimer:
Disclaimer
Any content that I publish on this blog is my perspective on the subject. I am sharing my expertise or opinion on the subject and it may not be accurate or correct information. You are, therefore, requested to confirm the authenticity and veracity of the subjects published before applying or adopting the information.
Spam Prevention
Please note that this blog receives hundreds of comments for each blog post; however, only a few are approved. Comments are thoroughly read. Only those comments that add value to the content are approved and the rest deleted. While spam comments continue to proliferate, I can and will do my part to help combat it. I have a spam filter in place that automatically catches the majority of the automated spam comments. If at all any spam slips through the filter, I delete it immediately. All IP addresses used for spamming will be reported to the Internet blacklists, the ISPs/hosts of the offending domain will be notified, and the owner of the IP block will be notified of the problem.
Language, Length, and Format
This blog has a diverse audience with different sensibilities and opinions. Hence, please avoid harsh language and the use of profanity. Flaming or use of threatening language or defaming anybody/any institution or any such intellectual property rights violation is not allowed nor will it be tolerated.
Ideally, your comment can be under 200 well-chosen words with paragraphs, grammar, punctuation, and spaces as found necessary. Advertisements, canvassing for products and services on the comments section are not allowed.
No one-line comments praising the blog, a blog post, or the author will be tolerated. Same would be the case with your mention about subscribing to this blog. Who cares whether you’re subscribed to this blog’s RSS feed or whether you shared an article of this blog on Facebook or Twitter? Apparently the comment should be cohesive to the content of the article, and should add value to the readers, and should be thought provoking.
Links

Relevant links in comments are actively encouraged. If you are leaving a comment on my blog and want a link to point to your own or somebody else’s site that is relevant to the topic, then please feel free to do so. This adds to the conversation and improves the blog post. However, note that excessive and/or inappropriate links will be removed.
Double check your links. Any link which returns an error, leads to a site under construction, or cannot be loaded by the browser will be removed. Same is the fate for affiliate links.
Signature Lines
You are welcome to add your website’s link in the designated URL box just below your name and e-mail ID. Your name will be automatically hyperlinked but make sure you add a proper human name. I don’t feel comfortable addressing someone as Dear “So and so website” or “Some dirty company, business, or keyword” when responding to a comment. It would be really annoying to other readers as well reading “Some Spam Site said:” and then reading your comment after that. Hence in the event that I know you, I’ll simply modify your anchor text to include your name. Otherwise I’ll delete the reference to your website or perhaps your entire comment.
E-mail IDs
Please use a valid e-mail ID when commenting on the articles. It will not be displayed unless you type it in the body of your comment. If found in the body, I usually edit it out. You will not be subscribed to any mailing list by leaving a comment.
I reserve the right to contact you via e-mail regarding any comment you make. If found that an invalid e-mail address has been used at any point in time, your comment will be deleted – no exceptions. Note that all your actions on this blog can be traced with reference to your IP even if you don’t provide a valid e-mail ID. If you are unaware, we have a separate privacy policy on what we trace about your actions on this blog.
Comment Moderation
In order to maintain the integrity of the blog and its contents, all comments, trackbacks and pingbacks made to Raj & Co are moderated. I work to review and approve comments as quickly as possible, but please do not resubmit your comment if it does not appear right away.
Comment Editing
I reserve the right to edit or delete comments as I feel necessary. Irrelevant comments will be deleted at once. Blatant spelling and grammatical errors will be edited. Serious edits will be notated at the end of the comment. If your comment conveys a coherent thought, it may just be edited. Tirades will most likely be deleted. At no time will I attempt to alter the core meaning of a comment.
Afterword
Once a person publishes a comment on my blog, s/he will be the copyright holder of that comment; i.e., you, and only you, are responsible for your words. They are yours and you get to keep them; however, by posting your comments to this blog, you are granting me the right, in perpetuity, to use, alter, and/or display them, howsoever, I see fit. Once your comment is submitted, that’s it – you’re immortalized.
This comments policy may be updated as and when needed ideally to suit the laws and requirements. So please make sure to check back every so often before leaving a comment on this blog.
Thus, it is implied that you have read and understood this page and agree to comply before leaving a comment on Raj & Co.
